The WOD-chester Games

The annual event formerly know as the “C—-F-t Rochester G—s” has been renamed to the The WOD-chester Games.  It sounds sorta silly but I’m having a ridiculously hard time renaming the event to something I find acceptably descriptive.

We’re going to try something totally new this year in that the event will feature only one division – TEAM!

Each team will be comprised of four athletes – two male, two female – and each athlete on the team must be identified as player A, B, C or D prior to the event.  The event will feature five workouts.  One workout will utilize all four athletes on a team working at the same time.  The other four workouts will be individual events and we will use a random drawing on the morning of the event to determine which athletes (A, B, C, or D) will be doing which workouts.  The composite scores of all 5 workouts will be used to determine the winning team.

Fear not – though the workouts will be challenging, they will be constructed in a way that will allow “normal C—-F–ters” to participate.  If you competed in the Open, you can compete here.

Once again, the purpose of this event will be to not only bring area C—-F–ters together, but also to send somebody to the 2013 CrossFit Games.  We did not have any qualifiers from the area, but we were able to score some spectator tickets.  One lucky participant in the WOD-chester Games is going to win a pair of gold package tickets plus flight, hotel and rental car expenses to the 2013 CrossFit Games in Carson CA on July 26-28th.

We’re gonna have to go old school on the sign up for this one…  print the registration form, fill it out and mail it in your sign up fee.  All entries must be received by Friday, June 21st.

Please note that due to the nature of how the event is structured, all players must be identified as A, B, C or D at the time of registration and no changes other than outright substitutions can be made to these designations.  Any outright substitutions (ie: a player is sick and new person takes their place) must be made by 9am on Friday, June 28th.  If a player cannot make the competition and a substitution is not made on time, the team will operate with less than four players.  All players must participate and be present at the drawing to win the trip to the CrossFit Games.

Please note that all events will take place out in the field next to the gym – rain or shine! – so dress accordingly (getting dirty is very possible).  No metal cleats!

If we’re are guesstimating the participation levels correctly the schedule for the day should look like this:
