WODchester Games Information

We are getting excited to host more than 250 competitors this weekend at the WODchester Games!  This is WAY more than we expected, but rest assured we’ll do our best to keep things moving smoothly and efficiently.

Important points to keep in mind:

-This event will be run entirely outside, rain or shine.  The gym will be closed and locked all day.  There will be porta-potties available and a warm-up area outside.  If it is dry, we will be in the field.  If it is wet we will be in the parking lot.

-Rain or shine you will get dirty …so don’t wear stuff you’re trying to keep nice.  Though I wouldn’t wear them personally, you might consider gloves and/or knee wraps (no knee pads allowed).

-Feel free to bring tents/chairs/etc.  We will have a specific areas designated for tents and spectating and the competition areas will be ribboned off.

-You may want to pack food/drink, an umbrella, sunscreen, a change of clothes, and a trash bag.

-Wegmans, Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, Brueggers, Chipotle, Moe’s, and 5 Guys are all located within a mile of the gym when you’re hungry and have a quick break (emphasis on “quick”).

– If we are in the field, you may use a soft sole trail shoe – no plastic or metal cleats will be allowed.

As noted, we have WAY more participants than we anticipated.  To keep the show from running super long we’ve adjusted the program so there will be more than one WOD running at any given time.  With so many people and so much happening we cannot afford to hold up the show …so it is IMPERATIVE that you are on time – both for the event itself and for your particular heats.  As it stands now the schedule for the day looks like…

* Note some of the teams in heats 1 and 4 are italicized.  These are teams from CrossFit Rochester…  heat 4 teams be ready to help judge in heats 1 and 2.  …heat 1 teams likewise for heats 3 and 4.

Sadly – we did have to turn away a few teams.  These teams have been wait-listed.  So, please, if for whatever reason your team cannot make it, please let us know ASAP so that we can make room for them.  Remember that any outright substitutions (ie: a player is sick and new person takes their place) must be made by 9am on Friday, June 28th.  If a player cannot make the competition and a substitution is not made on time, the team will operate with less than four players.

When you check-in, you’ll need to have all four players with you so that we can mark them accordingly.  This will facilitate scoring and also heat staging.  Just like the Hammerhead Games, we’ll be staging athletes with their judges prior to their heat so be sure to  be arrive ready to play on “Lombardi time.”
