Gaming Season – not done yet!

So we’re back from the 2013 CrossFit Games Northeast Regional.  Whoa! –  I’m tuckered out…  and I didn’t even compete.  Each year the games and the regional events just keep getting bigger and bigger – and this year was no exception.  Hats off to Jason Ackerman and the NE regional crew for pulling off a spectacular event.  I’ll leave a full review of the event up to Fem… not only is she a writer – she actually participated.  For now here are some quick notes.

First off, I’m super proud of our team.  Not only did our regional team not have any individual qualifiers on it (many of the other teams did), but all three of our girls were rookies. The ladies were nervous as hell, but they stepped up and I’d go so far as to say they over-performed.

I definitely want to congratulate all of the participants from Western New York…  not only for making the show, but also for their performances.  Eric Schenck (11th man) and Sheila Barden (10th woman) certainly repped the hood quite well.  I also need to shout out James Wozniak…  simply because I remember him from 15 months ago at the Hammerhead event in Buffalo where he was total train wreck.  Not so this weekend – he kicked ass and looked great doing so …he’s definitely come a LOOONG ways.

Alas, nobody from our neck of the woods qualified to go to California…  but that doesn’t mean nobody is going.  Tickets to the finals sold out super fast…  but not before we were able to score a pair – YES!!!  Want a chance to win tickets to the 2013 CrossFit Games?   Then sign-up for the WOD-chester Games event we’re hosting on June 29th.

As noted previously, the event is a 100% team competition.  However, one player from one team is going to win a pair of tickets plus travel expenses (flight, hotel and rental car) to the 2013 CrossFit Games.  The winner will be determined by a drawing of participating teams/athletes at the event.  Anyone have a hopper we can borrow?

Lots of folks have been asking how to sign up.  We’re gonna have to go old school on this one…  print the registration form, fill it out and mail it in with your sign up fee.  Please note that due to the nature of how the event is structured, all players must be identified as A, B, C or D at the time of registration and no changes other than outright substitutions can be made to these designations.  Any outright substitutions (ie: a player is sick and new person takes their place) must be made by 9am on Friday, June 28th.  If a player cannot make the competition and a substitution is not made on time, the team will operate with less than four players.  All players must participate and be present at the drawing to win the trip to the CrossFit Games.
