Catalyst Games Report

[by Fem]

This past Saturday, under the gorgeous beaming sunshine, a number of us headed over to CrossFit Boomtown to compete in their second-annual Catalyst Games. The weather absolutely couldn’t have been better: sixty-five degrees, perfect blue skies, and plenty of sunshine to give everyone that springtime lobster glow.

CrossFit Rochester fared well with a podium-finish in three out of the four categories. Meghan Kelly won the women’s open division, Ashley Lima won the women’s scaled division, and Matt Kelly was second in the men’s open division. We had a number of other “firsts” as well: Tara, Ashley, and Mike Voekel all stepped up to the plate for fantastic finishes in their first-ever “constantly-varied-functional-movement” competition. Cassa-yes, Tammy, Stash, Andrew, Willo, Bruckman, Fem, and Alicia competed as well, along with our friends Becky, Trevor, and Steph from Voodoo Fitness. ¬†Thanks to CrossFit Boomtown for hosting a fabulous event. You can find full results here (and if you’re curious about what the WODs were, those can be found here.)
